My name is Giorgia Lo Bue and I am one of the most titled athletes of Italian rowing. With my sister Serena I achieved goals that no one believed possible, winning 5 World Championships (3 with her, 2 in other specialties), 2 European Championships (both with Serena) and 12 Italian titles. The skepticism of many arise from the fact that women in rowing are very tall, often over 1.80m, while I am only 1.65 tall. Working hard we convinced everyone that they were wrong, at the point to earned the nickname "Sisters of Italy".
I also participated in the Universiade 2015 by arriving to the final in the "single light weights".
I live in Palermo, I study Medicine and I train over 30 hours a week to realize my dream: the Olympic Games 2020. It is not easy to reconcile these two commitments, but with a lot of perseverance important goals can be achieved.
When I can find some free time I love to travel, learn about other cultures and take care of myself.
In recent years rowing has gained more and more visibility allowing the athletes to make everyone aware of a sport that has always been considered as "minor".

The victory of the last world championships and had a great resonance, and it has been told on full pages od articles by the major national newspapers (Repubblica, Il Corriere della Sera and La Gazzetta dello Sport) as well as various magazines and local newspapers. We were guests at RAI during the TgRegione, and at L'ora Solare on TV2000 (conducted by Paola Saluzzi) as well as local broadcasters (TRM and TGS).
We have collaborated with La RepubblicaTV which has included us in the "Sorelle d'Italia" project.
We were awarded the Telamone 2018 Prize, a prestigious award given to those who brought the name of Sicily to the top in the world in the socio-cultural, entrepreneurial and scientific fields.
We have been nominated as the best female crew by World Rowing (the highest organ of world rowing) and as Revelation Women 2018 at the Italian Sportrait Awarlds.
On Facebook there are 2500 followers on my personal page and on the Lo Bue Sisters page we reach about 3000 impressions.
On Istagram I count on growing my personal profile where I currently have over 1000 followers.
