Mariem

My name is Mariem, I’m 26, born and raised in Tunisia, and currently pursuing a PhD in Paris and mainly training in Nice.  Freediving started as a passion—an inevitability, given my deep love for the sea. Over time, I realized I had real potential in the sport and the ability to compete with some of the best in the world. It has now become a clear goal of mine to reach the top levels. I am fully committed to this journey, and with the right support, I know I can continue progressing and achieve even greater results.

In 2022, I set a Tunisian national record in Dynamic with Bifins (DYNB) with a distance of 116 meters. I later added two national records in Static Apnea, including my most recent performance (2026) of 5 minutes and 16 seconds. While I have achieved good results in pool disciplines, my main focus is now depth freediving, where my personal best in Free Immersion (FIM) is 50 meters. This season, I aim to compete in depth competitions, break national records in Free Immersion (FIM) and Constant Weight with Bifins (CWTB), qualify for the AIDA Depth World Championship that will be held in Cyprus in September, and continue pushing for new records.
